Bradshaw Mountains – Jeep, SUV, ATV, Dirt Bike. Located South of Prescott, west of Interstate 17. This easy drive will take you back through history, with mines over 140 years old. Enjoy a gorgeous mountain drive with fascinating historic stops throughout. Crown King Road is a wide gravel road that can accommodate passenger cars when it is dry. This road climbs quickly as you approach the town of Crown King. Senator Highway beyond Crown King narrows and rough, requiring a high-clearance vehicle. Directions to Trail: Take exit 248 off of I-17 and head northwest to Bumble Bee. If you are coming from the north, you can get off at exit 259. Head west and then south, connecting to Crown King Road just north of Bumble Bee. If you are traveling from Prescott, you can head south on the Senator Highway and drive this beautiful trail in the reverse direction.
Lockett Meadow – Jeep, SUV, ATV, Dirt Bike, MTB. Located North of Flagstaff, west of Hwy 89 and the Sunset Crater National Monument. This easy trail is great for a lunch picnic of even a weekend campout. Hike the Basin Trail. The area is so stunning, it is a choice spot for photographers and plein air painters. The road is dusty, with some moderate steep sections, climbing from an elevation of about 1,300 feet to over 8,600 feet. Long RVs and low passenger should avoid this ride. Directions to the Trail: From the east side of Flagstaff, take Hwy 89 north and go about 12 miles. Turn left on the gravel Forest Service Road, right across from entrance to Sunset Crater National Monument.
Schultz Pass — Jeep, SUV, ATV, Dirt Bike, MTB. This lovely mountain drive is just a few miles out of Flagstaff. This is an easy ride, great for beginners. An abundance of marked side roads can be explored, and some may be a bit challenging. Camping is allowed almost anywhere in the area. Multi-use trails are open to hikers, mountain bikers, dirt bikers, and horseback riders. Mostly smooth gravel and fairly level, suitable for even passenger cars Directions to the Trail: Take Hwy 180 northwest about 2 miles out of Flagstaff toward Grand Canyon National Park. Turn right on Schultz Pass Road F.S. 420 where marked.
